Canada won the eight-nation, two-round competition before the first sellout (8,000) at the recently-renovated Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Canada edged Ireland and Great Britain (tie) for the blue ribbons, followed by the United States. Also competing were teams from Argentina, France, Mexico and Venezuela. Thousands of cheering, flag-waving fans packed the International Arena at the WEF grounds for the Nations Cup, reportedly the oldest and most prestigious team show jumping competition in the world.
